Liverpool star Alisson posts worrying injury update on his Instagram account

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been in excellent form for Liverpool this season, achieving three clean sheets in five matches. Manager Arne Slot confirmed that the first-choice goalkeeper is dealing with injury issues, leading to Caoimhin Kelleher starting in his place.

Kelleher maintained a clean sheet against Bournemouth, demonstrating why he’s regarded as one of the best backup goalkeepers globally. He made several key saves at Anfield, contributing to the team’s strong defensive record.

Liverpool has now secured four clean sheets in five league matches, with only one goal conceded against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Alisson has raised concerns by sharing an injury update on Instagram, revealing he is using a device designed to enhance blood circulation in muscles, aiding recovery from injuries. This lack of clarity about the severity of his injury is worrying for fans.

Although Kelleher is a capable backup, fans are eager for Alisson’s swift return to the starting lineup. This week, Liverpool will face Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.

Kelleher will start again, which would have been the case even if Alisson were fit. Slot is fortunate to have two exceptional goalkeepers, with Kelleher being talented enough to start for many Premier League teams.
