A recent update has been provided by Alexis Mac Allister regarding his injury.

Key Liverpool star to play international matches despite “slight discomfort” picked up against Crystal Palace

Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool has minimized concerns about a potential injury setback after being hurt in the match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Following Liverpool’s 1-0 win, manager Arne Slot stated that the Argentine midfielder was substituted at halftime due to a groin issue he picked up in the first half. Dominik Szoboszlai replaced him, raising worries among fans about the World Cup winner ahead of the international break.

However, Mac Allister reassured fans after the match, explaining on social media that he experienced only “a little discomfort” and expects to join the Argentina squad next week.

As part of their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, the Copa America champions will face Venezuela and Bolivia, aiming to stay at the top of the rankings.

On Instagram, Mac Allister said, “Great win for the team today; these are the moments that make us stronger.” He added, “During the game, I had a little discomfort, but it didn’t stop me. I’m completely focused on the future.”

Argentina and Liverpool are relieved by Alexis Mac Allister’s update. The midfielder will likely be assessed when he joins the national team, but he appears confident that his issue isn’t serious.

Given his significance to both club and country, the former Brighton player has featured in every Liverpool match this season and played in both of Argentina’s September games.

If he remains fit during the international break, Mac Allister is expected to play a key role, and Liverpool will closely monitor his condition.
