Latest news on Bukayo Saka’s injury if he will available for the match against Liverpool

Arsenal’s star player Bukayo Saka sustained an injury during the recent Nations League match, where England lost to Greece 2-1. Lee Carsley’s team was unable to secure a win at Wembley, conceding two goals to Vangelis Pavlidis, who propelled Greece to victory.

Jude Bellingham managed to equalize for England with a strong shot from outside the box in the 87th minute. However, their hopes for a draw were extinguished in injury time when Pavlidis scored again, putting Greece atop League B with nine points, three ahead of the second-place team.

The match was further complicated by Saka’s injury in the second half, leading to his substitution for Noni Madueke in the 52nd minute. Before leaving the pitch, Saka was seen holding his right knee. After the match, it was revealed he would undergo a scan to assess the severity of his injury and potential recovery time. Lee Carsley noted that Saka had experienced discomfort prior to Greece’s first goal.

Results from the scan are anticipated soon, just ahead of England’s next Nations League game against Finland at Helsinki Olympic Stadium.

On a brighter note for Saka, the international break ends in eight days, giving him some time to recover before Arsenal’s Premier League match against Bournemouth on October 19.

Mikel Arteta is optimistic about a swift recovery, especially with a busy schedule ahead following the break. After facing Bournemouth, the Gunners will play Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League, where they have only garnered four points from their first two games.

A major challenge lies ahead against Liverpool, who are currently leading the Premier League. Saka’s return would significantly bolster Arteta’s squad, particularly against a strong Liverpool side under new manager Arne Slot, which has won six out of seven league matches, keeping Manchester City and Arsenal just one point behind.
