Man Utd star offers update on his future beyond end of 2024/25 just seven games into Premier League season

One Manchester United star has reportedly spoken about his future after a poor start to the 24/25 season.

The Red Devils have had another disappointing start to the season, continuing a troubling trend of poor performance. Currently, Erik ten Hag’s team sits in 14th place in the Premier League and has struggled in their UEFA Europa League campaign as well. They are winless in five matches since their 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

This situation has led to speculation about whether Ten Hag is still the right leader for the club.

On Friday, Bold reported that midfielder Christian Eriksen has not yet started discussions with United regarding a new contract. His current deal expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, allowing him to negotiate with foreign clubs when the January transfer window opens.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared on social media that Eriksen stated, “No, we are not there yet” regarding talks with Manchester United about his contract.

Eriksen faced criticism from United legend Roy Keane over his remarks following the team’s 1-1 draw against FC Twente. The midfielder stated, “In the end, it was far from good enough. It looked like they wanted it more than us, and that can’t be right.”

Keane responded strongly, saying, “Eriksen is an experienced international player. He’s been playing well in training and has recently returned to the team. To come out after a game and say [they wanted it more] is unacceptable. Even if he feels that way, he shouldn’t say it publicly.”

He continued, “Someone needs to tell him, ‘Why are you sending those messages?’ I’d be appalled if I felt another team wanted it more than us. You should ensure that thought never enters anyone’s mind. Embrace the pressure and expectations.”
