Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has praised Barcelona’s Dani Olmo, indicating that the talented midfielder has often been underestimated internationally.
Olmo, who joined Barcelona this summer, was anticipated to play a key role for Spain during the recent international break, particularly after his standout performances in the European Championships earlier this year. However, a hamstring injury last month set him back, keeping him out for approximately four to five weeks.
In a recent press conference before Spain’s Nations League match against Denmark, De la Fuente highlighted Olmo’s outstanding talents. He noted, “People are surprised by Dani Olmo now… I’m surprised they didn’t notice it earlier!” The coach also praised Olmo along with his Barcelona teammates Pedri, Fermín, and Gavi, declaring, “They are the best in the world in their positions.”
As Olmo progresses in his recovery, there is optimism that he will soon be back on the field, where his talents can greatly benefit both Barcelona and the national team.
