**Thomas Partey Urges Arsenal Teammates to Heed Mikel Arteta’s Warning After Bournemouth Defeat**
Arsenal struggled to keep a full squad on the field, suffering a disappointing Premier League loss to Bournemouth after conceding two second-half goals.
Following the end of their unbeaten streak, Partey stressed the importance of “learning from our mistakes.” The team has now received three red cards in just six league matches, indicating a concerning lack of awareness about their situation.
Winning the title is unfeasible with only ten players. If Arsenal ignores Arteta’s directive to curb red cards, their wait for a championship will extend.
The Gunners had the lead against Brighton in August when Declan Rice was sent off, resulting in a 1-1 draw. They also drew with Manchester City last month after Leandro Trossard’s red card overturned their advantage.
In a dull match at the Vitality Stadium, the score remained 0-0 until William Saliba was sent off for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
This represents at least five points lost due to disciplinary issues, with Arteta asserting, “We need to play with 11 against 11 to achieve our goals.”
Arsenal clearly has a discipline problem that needs addressing to avoid further setbacks. Partey acknowledged that this trend cannot continue.
“We must learn from our mistakes and ensure they don’t happen again. We’re putting in the effort and trying to win our duels, but we need to unite since red cards can happen in any match,” he stated. “When we have 11 players on the pitch, we usually control the game.”
With captain Martin Ødegaard and key player Bukayo Saka injured, Arsenal appeared ineffective until Saliba mishandled a pass from Trossard.
Even down to ten men, they held on until Ryan Christie scored from a corner, followed by Justin Kluivert’s penalty after a poor backpass from Jakub Kiwior.
“Having a full squad boosts our confidence, but we must focus on the game rather than on our absentees,” Partey remarked. “William is essential, but we have capable defenders who need to step up, and the coach will make the necessary adjustments.”
Arteta’s impressive 16-match unbeaten run across all competitions and Arsenal’s strong away record ended with this defeat. He now faces the task of revitalizing the team ahead of a crucial week, starting with a Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday and a significant clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
Partey concluded, “We aim to win every match, but sometimes uncontrollable events happen, and we must find a way to succeed. We couldn’t do that here, but we can’t keep playing with ten men. It’s up to us to respond positively—we’re professionals and must hold each other accountable. Our next step is to bounce back.”
