As fourth official Craig Pawson readied to signal seven minutes of added time against Chelsea, cameras caught the Dutchman’s response. A deep sigh and a sharp shake of his head perfectly expressed the frustration felt by the 46-year-old as the match approached its conclusion, which ultimately turned out to be a successful one.

Arne Slot was not particularly pleased with the officiating during the game against Chelsea.

Aside from the officiating, our new head coach had much to be pleased about following the match against Chelsea. Many had anticipated difficulties this season after Jurgen Klopp’s departure, but the new coach has been incredibly successful so far.

With the exception of one setback against Nottingham Forest, we have performed well, and overcoming this challenge after the last international break was significant for the team.

Curtis Jones scoring was the perfect reward for our performance, keeping us at the top of the table for another week.

With Champions League football upcoming before our trip to the Emirates, we’ll have another opportunity to gauge our status as genuine title contenders this season.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s hard not to be impressed with the revamped Reds.
