Arsenal in Pole Position to Sign Real Madrid Star Rodrygo

According to the Spanish source Fichajes, Arsenal is reportedly at the forefront of the competition to sign Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. The 23-year-old Brazilian winger, who moved to Los Blancos from Santos in 2018, has had a successful career at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, securing two Champions League titles, multiple league championships, and various other prestigious awards.

Despite being a key player for Real Madrid, Rodrygo’s future is uncertain following the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, which has led to speculation about his potential exit. Fichajes reports that Rodrygo is increasingly likely to leave, with Arsenal emerging as the leading contender for his signature in the Premier League.

Real Madrid is open to selling the Brazilian if a significant offer comes in, having previously sought around £134 million for him during the summer transfer window. With his contract running until 2028, the club is in a strong position to demand a high fee, especially with growing interest from teams like Liverpool.

Rodrygo’s versatility allows him to play in various attacking positions, though he prefers the left side. His opportunities in that role at Real Madrid have been limited due to Vinícius Jr.’s presence. Still, his considerable potential makes him an attractive target for Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their squad.

In other news, after a disappointing 2-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League, Arsenal rebounded with a solid victory against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. Mikel Arteta’s team is now preparing to face title rivals Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium this weekend, aiming to secure three points to narrow the gap at the top of the table.
