Arsenalās departing sporting director, Edu, has previously highlighted the clubās intention to win the Premier League “the right way.”
Edu has been instrumental in Arsenalās revival, working closely with manager Mikel Arteta to make the team competitive for titles. However, he is now set to depart after talks with the clubās management.
During his time at the Emirates, Arsenal has finished as runners-up to Manchester City twice. In a pre-season interview, Edu stressed the significance of achieving success ethically.
On the Men in Blazers podcast in August, he remarked, āWe definitely want to win titles and bring trophies to the club, but how we accomplish that is what matters most to me. I aim to compete fairly and win in the best possible way, so that people feel proud of us for winning ethically.
āIām not comparing ourselves to others; my focus is on our own victories and losses, and how we earn our trophies. Thatās what makes sense to me. It doesnāt matter that we didnāt win a trophy last season; ask any Arsenal fan how they feel about us.
āItās crucial that they take pride in our efforts. In sports, you can win or lose, but the way you approach it is what truly counts.ā
