Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a last-minute move for a top Bundesliga player this summer, amid links with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
The Merseyside club has been relatively inactive in the 2024/25 transfer window so far. Although a deal with Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili appears to be nearing completion, Liverpool remains the only Premier League team without a senior signing this summer.
In addition to seeking a new goalkeeper, Liverpool is reportedly interested in adding another forward to their already strong attacking lineup. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has mentioned that Liverpool has inquired about a potential move for Federico Chiesa.
A recent report indicates that Liverpool might also be considering Bayern Munich’s highly-regarded winger, Kingsley Coman, as an alternative if the Chiesa deal falls through.
French journalist Nabil Djellit has suggested that Liverpool is interested in Coman as a potential attacking option this window. Coman had a limited season with Bayern Munich last year, making 27 appearances, averaging just over 60 minutes per game, scoring five goals, and providing three assists. This season, he has made two appearances, including a goal in the opening match against SSV Ulm.
Since joining Bayern Munich from Juventus in 2017, Coman has made 294 appearances, scoring 63 goals and providing 66 assists. However, Liverpool is not the only Premier League club interested in him. Arsenal is also reportedly keen on acquiring Coman and is exploring a loan-to-buy deal before the transfer window closes on Friday.
Although Coman is a potential target for both Liverpool and Arsenal, their primary focus remains on other options, with Chiesa being Liverpool’s top choice for an attacking signing this summer.
Chiesa’s absence from Juventus’ squad for their 3-0 victory over Verona on Monday suggests that the 26-year-old may be nearing a departure from the Serie A club.
While Barcelona has also shown strong interest, Chiesa reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League.
