Laporta’s remarkable efforts have secured a winger for Barcelona with the approval of Flick.

Barcelona continues to aim at enhancing their squad by signing a left winger this summer, though they might opt for a less prominent acquisition than initially considered with Nico Williams.

The club is currently negotiating with Juventus over the potential transfer of Federico Chiesa, whose contract expires next summer. Barcelona has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Chiesa, who is willing to accept a pay cut for a three-year deal with the club and has approved the move.

However, talks between Barcelona and Juventus are ongoing, with Juventus seeking €20 million for Chiesa, while Barcelona is hesitant to exceed €15 million.

According to Cadena SER, it is unlikely that the deal for Chiesa will be concluded this week. Any agreement would need to be finalized in the last week of the transfer window, largely due to Barcelona’s need to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations.

The club needs to ensure sufficient financial flexibility to sign Chiesa, which may necessitate additional sales or off-field agreements.

A significant factor in Barcelona’s ability to sign Chiesa is the potential departure of Ilkay Gundogan, who is anticipated to leave. Even with Gundogan’s exit, Sporting Director Deco might need to arrange further player sales to create the financial space needed for Chiesa’s registration.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that Barcelona has not yet officially registered their major signing of the year, Dani Olmo.

If Chiesa joins Barcelona, the club might consider loaning Ansu Fati, who has struggled to secure a regular starting position, as Chiesa’s arrival could limit his opportunities.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Barcelona must act swiftly to finalize the Chiesa deal and manage the necessary financial arrangements for his registration.

The upcoming weeks are critical for the club as they work to strengthen their squad for the new season.
