Liverpool is poised to auction off four players before to the deadline day this week .

Joe Gomez’s future at Anfield is still in question. The versatile defender, who has been crucial for Liverpool’s defense in recent seasons, has attracted interest from other clubs. Newcastle United made a £45 million offer for Gomez earlier in the transfer window, but the deal did not materialize. Liverpool is now waiting to see if other offers come in before deciding his fate.

On the field, Liverpool have started the season strongly, winning their first two games. They achieved a 2-0 away victory over Ipswich Town and a 2-0 home win against Brentford. Manager Arne Slot is pleased with the team’s early performance but remains cautious about future challenges.

Slot acknowledged the efforts of Ipswich and Brentford but does not expect either to finish in the Premier League’s top six this season. He believes Liverpool still has a lot to prove and must continue working hard. After the Brentford match, Slot commented, “Ipswich and Brentford have played well against us, but I don’t expect either to be in the top six this season. We still have much to prove.”

As the transfer window nears its close, Liverpool will focus on finalizing their squad, aiming to balance experience and youth for peak performance. With potential departures on the horizon, the club will seek to make necessary adjustments to stay competitive in the Premier League and beyond.
