After Mbappe, Florentino prepares for a powerful bl.ow that will sha.ke the throne of Europe

Real Madrid’s approach to building a highly competitive team involves a meticulous process. Following a successful summer with the acquisitions of Mbappé and Endrick, the club is now aiming to add several more top players, with a particular focus on securing a world-class talent.

Though securing such a player is challenging, the board has devised a plan to make a historic signing at the Santiago Bernabéu. Despite their persistent efforts, Real Madrid did not finalize any new contracts before the summer transfer window closed. During this period, they saw the departures of youth players like Nico Paz, Mario Martín, and Álvaro Rodríguez, and Reinier Jesus was loaned to Granada.

Previously, Real Madrid had pursued Erling Haaland, who joined Manchester City in 2022. The club decided to prioritize Kylian Mbappé over Haaland, viewing Haaland as a future option. However, his situation has become more complex with Manchester City’s attempts to renew his contract, which is set to expire in 2026, involving discussions between his agent and City’s management.

If Haaland’s contract is renewed, he could become the highest-paid player at Manchester City, potentially overshadowing Kevin De Bruyne, with rumors suggesting his salary could exceed 24 million euros net annually. Currently, Real Madrid appears unable to afford Haaland, particularly after the recent acquisitions of Mbappé and Endrick, which address the team’s attacking needs. However, Pérez aims to make Haaland the marquee signing for Real Madrid in the summer of 2025.
