Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is in tears following another important Arsenal’s key player, who was supposed to play a crucial part against Tottenham, is now injured and could be sidelined for a few weeks again.

Arsenal faces a challenging few weeks with their captain, Martin Ødegaard, out for approximately three weeks due to an ankle injury. Ødegaard sustained the injury while playing for Norway against Austria, leaving Arsenal without their key midfielder for important Premier League matches, including games against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Initially, there was hope that the injury might not be severe. However, concerns grew when Ødegaard was seen using crutches, suggesting the injury was worse than initially anticipated.

Recent updates indicate that while the injury is not as serious as feared, it still presents a setback. Ødegaard’s scan showed no fractures, which is positive news. Nonetheless, he is expected to be sidelined for around three weeks as his ankle heals.

Norway’s team doctor, Ola Sand, clarified that injuries of this nature usually require at least three weeks for recovery. He mentioned that anything less would be a bonus and recovery might take longer. Dr. Sand also pointed out that interpreting MRI scans can be challenging, particularly with a history of similar injuries. Although no fracture was found, Ødegaard will need time to heal. Had there been a fracture, recovery could have taken six weeks or more.

For Arsenal, Ødegaard’s absence is significant given his crucial role in the team. His creative and leadership qualities have been vital to recent performances. Missing him for key games, especially against rivals like Tottenham and Manchester City, will put additional pressure on the squad to perform.

Despite the setback, the absence of a fracture and the relatively short recovery period offer some relief. Arsenal remains hopeful for Ødegaard’s quick return.

In the meantime, Arsenal will rely on other midfielders like Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, and Jorginho to step up and cover for Ødegaard. Their performance will be critical in maintaining the team’s competitiveness during this period.

How well Arsenal adapts to this challenge will test their depth and resilience. With tough fixtures ahead, the team must rise to the occasion and ensure that Ødegaard’s absence does not affect their momentum in the Premier League. Fans will be eager for a swift recovery and Ødegaard’s return to help propel Arsenal’s success this season.
